- Are bikes included?
Yes! Every Backroads Biking Trip includes the use of our titanium-frame bikes, custom designed for the perfect mix of lightness, comfort and performance. You’ll also have access to our full fleet, which includes Performance Bikes, E-bikes, mountain bikes, tandems* and kids’ bikes.
Along with your bike, we provide everything you need for the ride: a helmet, Wahoo GPS device with preloaded routes, water bottles, trunk bag for storage, gel seat cover, safety triangle, lock/cables and—on tandems—two panniers.
*Note: E-bikes and tandems are available only on select trips and locations. Tandems are by request, carry an additional fee and are subject to availability.
- Can I change my bike selection?
Yes! You can update your bike choice anytime through your Backroads Account. Keep in mind that bike requests are subject to availability and are prioritized by the date requested.
If you’ve upgraded to a carbon bike or tandem, please note that a full cancellation fee applies if you cancel your entire trip reservation within 30 days of departure.
- How do Backroads Trip Leaders support the biking routes?
Backroads provides unparalleled support. On biking routes, one leader drives the support van, sweeping the route several times during the day and providing lifts and assistance to guests as needed. Another leader rides the route, roving between cyclists traveling at different speeds.
