It's good to feel small. Among these mountains that loom so large. Hike and bike with your family in vast U-shaped valleys. Stare in awe at dramatic waterfalls. Gaze down on fast-flowing rivers and grand lakes in turquoise shades. You may feel dwarfed by this grandeur, but far from insignificant because you're in it and part of it. Small is beautiful when you're camping in the Rockies.

Day 2 Explore Kootenay National Park on foot | Witness a vast wildfire burn area while keeping an eye out for new-growth forest with pink fireweed juxtaposed against yellow columbine | Venture into a hanging valley for a view of stunning Stanley Glacier.

Day 3 There's nothing like a morning spin amid towering peaks, virgin forests and the blue-green Bow River | Keep your eye on the forest for elk, bighorn sheep, mule deer and black bears as you pedal rolling hills to the hamlet of Lake Louise | Pause en route to hike up Johnston Canyon and take in vistas of the gorgeous lower waterfalls | Massive Mount Temple, with its glistening hanging glacier and epic cliff faces, is truly awe-inspiring | Relax by the campfire while your Camp Chef prepares another spectacular outdoor meal.

Days 4-5 The Kicking Horse River sets the stage for a Class II–IV rafting experience | Embark on a classic Rockies trek to the historic Plain of Six Glaciers Teahouse—fancy some chocolate cake? | As you gaze at the stunning panorama of glaciers and vertical peaks, you may spot mountain goats or hear the thunderclap of ice avalanching from the hanging Victoria Glacier.
