Days 1-2
Hike to Elbow Lake, a sparkling alpine basin tucked beneath glacier-sculpted peaks • Walk through lodgepole pine forests, alive with chipmunks and ground squirrels • Pause for lunch trailside and soak in the quiet beauty of Kananaskis Country • Kids embark on an outdoor rock climbing adventure with their Adventure Leader and a certified guide • Adults hike to the summit of Prairie Mountain for sweeping views of the valley • Spend the afternoon with your family hiking to a waterfall or relaxing at the lodge’s expansive Nordic spa.
Nights 1-2
Set in the heart of Kananaskis Country, this luxurious mountain lodge nestled in the Rockies was originally built in 1986 for the Winter Olympics and at the end of 2017 completed a full renovation including the addition of a 50,000-square-foot Nordic spa. (pool, spa)
Days 3-6
Embark on an exciting rafting adventure on the Kananaskis River • Pedal along the Legacy Trail beneath the soaring Rundle Range and Cascade Mountain • Coast into Banff or take on a steady climb for views at Surprise Corner • Ride the Bow Valley Parkway past the turquoise Bow River and towering peaks of Castle Mountain and Storm Mountain • Watch for elk or bighorn sheep near the roadside pullouts • Ride to Lake Minnewanka, the largest lake in Banff National Park, and spin around the scenic Banff Springs Golf Course • Explore Banff’s charming shops and galleries • Walk through Marble Canyon, a colorful slot canyon carved by the rushing Tokumm Creek • Soak under the stars in the outdoor hot tub at our luxurious retreat.
