We want to make sure you're on the trip that's right for you. Every Backroads trip is unique and this one is no exception.
Our hikes through Patagonia's captivating terrain are remote and often do not intersect with roads. Vehicles will get us to and from the trailheads, but the nature of these trails is such that we won't see our vehicles along the route. Ample trail support in the form of water, snacks, and encouragement is provided by your Backroads leaders and local guides.
Also be aware that our biking routes include sections of dirt roads with loose rocks and sand, as well as some more trafficked stretches. Of course, you're always welcome to jump in the shuttle to avoid the busier or rougher sections of the route.
Trips with a small number of guests may be supported by one Backroads Trip Leader and a team of knowledgeable local guides. There will always be at least two people hiking on the trail with you.

Our first trip was fantastic.
Backroads lived up to their great reputation! On our flight home and already looking at future trips!
Adventure, accomodation, action and asado!
The locations are breathtaking, but then you get to a high point on a trail and that previously breathtaking moment now becomes sublime. The trip was incredible and our guides Veronica and Martin (and all the others that helped) were engaged, funny, friendly, and encouraging for us to try things that may have been a little out of our comfort zone. If you have not been to Patagonia, this is a great way to see and do it.

Amazing trip to Patagonia! Beautiful scenery!
The amazing views we experienced through hiking and biking were breathtaking! Enjoyed the local culture in unique ways. Trip leaders and guides were so knowledgeable and fun!

Patagonia
Backroads was excellent from check in to check out. Our every need was anticipated and fulfilled. The entire experience was fun and interesting. The scenery was magnificent.
Exceeded our expectations
Accommodations and Food were spectacular. Activities like fancy boat rides with champagne and decadent lunches on the beach were unexpected but incredible! Guides anticipated our every need. I felt spoiled. The people we met enhanced all aspects.
FANTASTIC IN EVERY WAY!
This is a once in a lifetime experience adventuring through Patagonia. Whether it be hiking through forests or up to an incredible viewpoint, taking a memorable boat ride and view 360 degrees of mountains in the middle of the Fingerlakes, kayaking to an island to drink Matte, or cycling up a hill with your eyes on a snow covered mountain, you'll have the best time of your life. Miguel and Vale are top notch leaders: professional, approachable, fun and good people who are there to make this a special time in your life. You've got to go!!
Couldn't have dreamed of a better trip
Phenomenal combination of local culture experiences, adventure activities, food, and locations. The trip is well assembled and flows nicely. Each day is different. There is so much information about the culture to dig into, including information on the Gaucho's, artists, Mapuche, and environment. The dinner at a local's home is one of the top highlights and is an experience I can't see you getting on your own. All adventure activities were exceptional, and required a good base level of fitness - most of the harder ones had easier alternatives. Both leaders were phenomenal and their personality and knowledge amplified the trip in a positive way. I recommend flying in an extra day early to account for air traffic delays in the region.

The trip for those who don't want to do tour group trips.
I've always done the planning for our trips but Argentina with hiking, biking and kayaking is a whole different animal. There is no way we could of had the experiences that we did without Backroads. The cultural immersion with incredibly qualified and authentic locals was the highlight. A yerba tea presentation on a remote beach, a empanada cooking class in a tiny village, a private showing at the gallery of one of Argentina's most popular artists, dinner with our kayak guide at his beautiful home in the jungle, a tango lesson, horseback riding with a loose horse trailing us and a BBQ overlooking the lake - PRICELESS!!

Better than expected!
This was my first Backroads trip. The activities exceeded my expectations. Our guides were tremendously experienced, knowledgeable about the culture and the environments in which we traveled, and professional at all times. I will definitely participate in another Backroads trip in the future.
AMAZING!
Our first Backroads trip & it has set the bar high!! Amazing trip in all ways....beautiful scenery, wonderful food & incredible experiences with the local guides taking us beyond the typical tourist experience. Our guides Ally & Ben were exceptional! They were the heart & soul of our trip, taking it from 'just a trip' to an experience that far exceeded all expectations and made us fall in love with Argentina! We will definitely take another Backroads trip!!
