Best cycling experience of my life

Submitted June 2025

By jennifer

From Boise, ID

Cycling in Mallorca was pure joy on the bike every day. The scenery was breathtaking, and the hills were rolling without getting too steep. We enjoyed delicious food at every meal, and our leaders looked after everything. Truly an unforgettable and wonderful experience!

Cycling Heaven!

Submitted October 2024

By Glen

From Bellevue, WA

Mallorca is a cycling paradise! We were able to ride 3 of the must do rides Coll de Soller, Puig Major, and the epic Cap de Formentor! The best climbing, really nice descents, rolling hills, flats and breathtaking scenery on the best cycling roads in Europe. Very well designed trip with the intensifying morning climbs each day. Cyclist everywhere, every road, and every restaurant/coffee cafe. Food was wonderful, tapas and paella to your hearts delight. Sunny everyday. Sunrise from Puerto de Pollensa was picturesque. It's the total vibe for the avid cyclist! Shout out to David, Julia, & Andres our outstanding guides! You know it's a great trip when you reunite with previous trip guest followed by running into a former guide at a cycling cafe (my 5th BR trip & 11th bike tour). Last but not least, omg thank goodness BR finally upgraded their bikes with SRAM eTap gearing (w/46-33T & 10-36 cassette, you will need for climbs), Mavic carbon wheels, Schwalbe Pro One tires, and disc brakes (you will need for descents). Awesome trip!!!

Best Cycling on Earth (probably)

Submitted June 2023

By Eric

From Denver, CO

The cycling was amazing! I was able to do the "extra long" riding options that our guides Anna and David put together for me since I was was faster than the rest of the group -> Iwas able to get ~350 mi and 30k ft in during the week. I was able to do all the "famous" Mallorcan climbs! The accommodations were great and the support was perfect. Great food options. If you love cycling, this is a great way to experience the Mallorcan cycling scene.

Always our favorite vacation!

Submitted September 2021

The secret sauce of Backroads is their people! The locales, routes, meals amd accommodations are always stellar, but each time we travel with Backroads, it's our leaders who we miss the most. They take such great care of us, and go to extremes to make our vacation over-the-top enjoyable. We love meeting so many nee people with similar interests, and marvel at the opportunities to explore local towns and really get the flavor of the country we are visiting. We could NEVER have planned trips like this on our own!!
