One of the best trips I've ever taken

Submitted September 2018

By Ksham126

From California

This trip was everything it promised to be, and then some. If you're on the fence about the cost and think (as I did) that it is a little steep for your budget but MAYBE you can swing it ... DO IT. But be warned: you will be ruined forever and want to do Backroads trips always. The guides were both amazing, personable, knowledgeable, fun ... we rode beautiful routes through the Napa wine regions, ate delicious food ... I sound like the brochure because the brochure is accurate. This trip (Sonoma Wine Weekend) was absolutely great. Oh, and the Premiere Hotels are really that ... luxurious and beautiful.

Weekend getaway

Submitted May 2018

By Mary

From Pittsburgh, PA

The perfect long weekend! A combination of beautiful rolling hills on the bike, winery stops along the way and a small group of fellow travelers made the trip one to remember. The trip leaders constantly anticipated our needs, kept us safe and seemed to be having as much fun as we were. I'll definitely be looking for another weekend getaway with Backroads!

Great introduction to Backroads!

Submitted May 2018

By Teagan

From Boston, MA

This was our first trip with Backroads, and we're already looking to book another! We weren't sure what to expect from a group vacation so went with a shorter one, but were wishing we could stay longer by the time it was over! There was plenty of flexibility to bike independently when desired or stay with the group. The lodging, activities and food were of very high quality and exceeded our expectations. The trip leaders were awesome, made us immediately feel comfortable and set a great tone for the weekend. The support van follows you around and provides convenient pit stops for shedding a layer or filling up your water bottle. Healstead was a great town to base out of, there were plenty of shoppes to visit and a central park to walk around during downtime. Every detail was thought out, which made it look effortless from our end. Best part was we didn't have to plan a thing beyond booking the trip and airfare, and was better than any vacation I could have planned myself!

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

The trip was better than I thought it would be, and I had high expectations. Well planned and well facilitated, we were hooked on the first day and cannot wait to book our next adventure. Our leaders, Cayla, Spencer, Lizzy and Katie were always smiling, encouraging, helpful, indulgent, knowledgeable and fun! This was a great way to spend our anniversary!

Amazing Weekend Getaway!

Submitted October 2017

By Kyle

From Park City, Utah

The ideal balance of exercise, socializing, and leisure time varies with each guest. The flexible layout of this trip ensured that each guest could find that balance without feeling excluded from the group. The cycling routes were beautiful and suitable to a wide range of skills and conditions. The location was incredible, the lodging was perfect, and the food and wine were amazing. The Backroads trip leaders made everything seamless, and were a joy to spend time with. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone with some level of interest in cycling, wine, socializing, and relaxing (or any combination of, and not necessarily in this order).
