Mitra Ghaffari

Originally from the swimming pools of Colorado, Mitra sought out the sea from a young age, studying and working in multiple coastal countries and islands. Mitra has been leading trips throughout Latin America for four years. In addition to her role as a Backroads Leader, Mitra works in independent documentary production and community arts programming. Living internationally has offered countless beautiful experiences and exchanges, highlights include: getting scuba certified in the Galapagos, swimming from island to island in southern Brazil, stacking hammocks between two palm trees and waking up to the sun rise over the Viñales Valley, backpacking the Nāpali Coast with her brother and sister-in-law and eating from her grandmother’s kumquat tree.
