Gary is currently the friendly neighborhood photo editor at Backroads. He started his career managing a photo library for a famous adventure photographer followed by several decades as a freelance outdoor and travel photographer. He’s published seven books on California, and his work has been used by the National Geographic Society, National Park Service, displayed at the Smithsonian, US Department of the Interior and at a US embassy. His photos have also been used on seven US Postal Service FOREVER Stamps.
