Itinerary
Days 1-2
It’s love at first sight when you catch a glimpse of the mountain landscape of the Dolomites • Ride a cable car to Seceda, gateway to the jagged peaks of the Geisler Group • Hike through picture-perfect alpine meadows in the Puez Odle Nature Park, a World Heritage site • Linger over a cold post-hike birra on the terrace of a typical mountain hütte • Bike among the meadows and forests of the Seiser Alm as you make your way past the Schlern massif back down to the storybook village of Selva in Val Gardena • Indulge at the spa or soak up alpenglow while sipping an aperitivo on the terrace of our resplendent hotel • Dine on Michelin-starred regional cuisine.
Nights 1-2
Just a short walk from the center of the village, this Leading Hotels of the World property has blossomed from a simple 1950s pension to a luxurious wellness resort featuring a gourmet restaurant and 360-degree views of the surrounding peaks. (pool, spa)
Days 3-4
Hike manicured trails through dramatic alpine terrain • Admire views of neighboring Sella and Sasso Lungo massifs from high above the Badia Valley • Savor hearty Tyrolean dishes like canederli (bread dumplings) and apple strudel • Bike through the rolling Badia Valley with views of the Fanes mountain group • Enjoy panoramic vistas and wildflowers while hiking along the Pralongià plateau • Challenge your coordination on a high-ropes course with zip lines woven into the treetops • Relax in the pretty town of Corvara.
Nights 3-4

The accommodations on this trip are Premiere hotels. While they offer outstanding service and amenities, please note that they are not equipped with air-conditioning. Despite the region’s generally temperate climate and cool nights, guestrooms can occasionally become warm during peak temperatures.
Our bike routes on this trip are a bit different than those found on a typical Backroads trip. Rather than paved roads, our cycling routes consist of mixed terrain including unpaved roads and gravel bike paths. Additionally, due to the terrain in the Dolomites region, the rides on this trip contain numerous short and steep ascents and descents, which can make the routes feel more challenging than the mileage suggests. To accommodate riding on this terrain, we use a different fleet of bikes created specifically for cycling on variable surfaces.

Trip of a lifetime !
Not a complaint in sight- leaders were top ten! Always helpful, always smiling, always willing! The accomodations were "I can't believe how nice this is". The hiking and biking routes were amazing, and filled with endless gorgeous scenery.

Exceeded expectations
If you're on the fence, do it. From our guides, to the food, to the hotels, the adventures each day, to the little surprises in between, everything is great! Backroads knows how to put together a great trip. We did hiking/biking in the Dolomites. Hoping to plan another trip soon!
A fantastic trip filled with nature and culture
Adventurous biking and simple hiking along mostly gravel trails accompanied by beautiful vistas of the Dolomites and alpine villages. The hotels had everything in amenities and spas, and the cuisine was delicious at every meal. Our guides Nick and Giuseppe were very experienced, as well as brought great humor, fun, and flexibility. Backroads has great connection to their partners in this region, which allowed for real experiences of the culture. I highly recommend this trip!
VACATION OF A LIFETIME - DOLOMITES ADVENTURE!
This trip to the Dolomites was the perfect balance of Activity, Culture and Luxury! The staff Frederica and Matteo were incredible guides that made all the difference in the world. We had some unexpected snow on our trip that altered some of the planned activities. Frederica and Matteo easily made on the fly changes that kept our group positive and stress free. The overall itinerary was well planned and thought through for both the active adventurer and the novice. Both Interesting and Exciting every step of the way! Hands down our best trip yet!
Had high expectations and not disappointed
BR tours may be a little more expensive than others but a multi sport adventure is a priority. The accommodations, food, and services maximizes that cost. The Dolomites trip exceeded anything that I could have imagined! Loved it
You will love the Dolomites
This was our first Backroads trip and it did not disappoint. The Dolomites were spectacular, activity level was great, with flexible daily options to suit all travellers. The accommodations and meals were top notch and the itinerary included several very interesting activities that made this trip just that much better (open air museum, wine tasting, treetop trekking). Our guides were outstanding, friendly, knowledgeable and kept things moving smoothly throughout. Thank you Kalea, Davide, Matteo and Albert for making an amazing adventure really something special. We will be back!
