What's Included

We want to make sure you're on the trip that's right for you. Every Backroads trip is unique and this one is no exception.
In Santa Barbara and Ojai, expect a mix of paved bike paths, city streets and rural roads. Some sections of our routes have fast-moving traffic and little shoulder, while some of the quieter roads we ride on have rougher pavement.
Though bike lanes are common, kids should feel comfortable riding with cars.
Our activities on Day 4 on Santa Cruz Island are based on ferry schedules that were accurate at the time of publication. On the rare occasion that the ferry cannot run as planned safely due to windy conditions and rough seas, we have alternative activities on the mainland ready to go and assure you that any such changes will not affect the quality of your experience.
Though the ferries are built for stability, please come prepared for wet, windy conditions and bring seasickness medication if you think you’ll need it.
