We want to make sure you're on the trip that's right for you. Every Backroads trip is unique and this one is no exception.
Germans are not only known for their passion for beer, but also for bikes. And that love of bikes has created an amazing labyrinth of bike paths and routes that extend throughout the country. Many of the paths we utilize on this trip are the equivalent of scenic byways, linking quaint villages and big cities alike. While we are on bike paths in larger cities, be prepared for the occasional rush of local riders as they commute and run errands. These wonderful bike paths are refreshingly car-free, which means that there are stretches of limited van support, although you’ll still be supported by leaders on bikes. Although most of the paths are smooth and paved, there are some sections of interlocking bricks, gravel, cobblestone and hard-packed dirt that can be muddy during downpours.
Hotel Zur Bleiche Resort & Spa is a Premiere hotel housed in a beautiful historic building. While it offers outstanding service and amenities including a fabulous spa, libraries and restaurants, please note that it is not equipped with air-conditioning. Despite the region’s generally temperate climate and cool nights, guestrooms can occasionally become warm during peak temperatures.

Berlin to Prague bike trip
I can't rave about this trip enough! Our leaders, Anjuschka, Rob, Rory and Selina, were fabulous! We chose the premier hotel package and all of the hotels were top notch. The meals were fantastic. The biking routes on this trip were not too difficult and the use of Wahoos with the trip route programmed in was so helpful. We had a great group and were so sad to leave! Will definitely do another trip!!
Amazing trip to Eastern Europe
Every detail was attended to. This trip was Luxurious all the way. 5 star hotels, and amazing cuisine. A perfect way to see the sights from a bike. The labyrinth of off road trails in Germany were beyond belief. Our guides were attentive, helpful, knowledgeable, and understanding. They worked so hard to make our experience memorable.

Beyond Berlin
The most spectacular week spent with the most incredible team from Backroads pedaling our way from Berlin to Prague. Perfect in every way! Thank you Sönke, Anjushka, Marc & Johnny for making this a most memorable experience! This was our first Bsckroads trip but will not be our last! Cheers

Fantastic
Had a great trip! The trip leaders were excellent with good local knowledge and pleasant/fun company. Loved the scenery and experiencing the local culture and food with the well planned itinerary. The accommodations were quite amazing, being able to experience a quality I would never had done on my own, especially in Dresden staying at a previous palace. I also enjoyed the dedicated bike trails and getting off the beaten path, throughout most of the trip. Well done Backroads and many thanks to our leaders.
Backroads reliably exceeds expectations
For those who are reticent to go on a group trip with strangers or who wonder if the cost of the trip is justified or if the level of exercise will match their capabilities- you will be pleasantly surprised repeatedly on a Backroads trip! We just did our second trip after having been won over completely during my husband's and my first trip, and we have met many others who have done multiple trips with Backroads - including one who has done 29 trips with them! It is clear that everyone in the company - from those who plan the trips to those who lead them - are truly dedicated to making these wonderful experiences for their guests. The hotels, the food, the activities are all excellent. I can't recommend Backroads trips more highly.

Outstanding!
What a gorgeous experience in every way - the trip leaders Stefan and Majorie were so fun, caring and led with excellence, it was a joy to witness! The sheer beauty of the rides, the hotels, it's a fantastic trip in every way!

Great trip—perfect balance of biking and culture
The bike trails in Germany are amazing—miles of dedicated trails through farm fields and forests and up hills. Largely flat the first several days and then some hills. The long options towards the end of the week are quite challenging, if you're looking for that. And Berlin, Prague and Dresden are fascinating cities with great museums and restaurants. Two of the hotels are country manors converted to first class hotels and spas; the third is in Dresden and quite excellent.
Thoroughly enjoyable trip!
The backroads team provided exceptional support for our group. The routes were marvelous with great mileage options. The hotels/resorts were perfect ends to our days. We had a wonderful group of fellow travelers and enjoyed our time together both in the saddle and spending time together at meals.
Wonderful family trip for all ages
We enjoyed this amazing bike tour from Berlin to Prague (with a few transports) as an extended family adventure. Everyone from age 24 to 80 years old had a wonderful experience! Wonderful food, superb accommodations, and personable leaders! Thank you!
