Captivating Adventures in Lithuania, Latvia & Estonia
The prized amber found on these shores is a lot like the Baltic states themselves. Take something grown organically: tree sap, or an ancient culture rich in myths and legends. Subject it to immense pressure: a couple centuries of Swedish, Polish and Russian rule. Place in a pristine natural setting that complements it like a fine necklace. The result? A true travel gem.
Highlights
- Taste a sampling of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia as you journey across the three neighboring countries of this little-traveled region

- Grand hotels, spa retreats and converted castles make our unique stays an experience in and of themselves

Day 1
Begin your adventure in Vilnius, Lithuania’s artsy and quirky capital • Cycle through the rippling wheat fields of the Lithuanian countryside • Spin past a myriad of tiny lakes • Stop for lunch at a traditional summer lake house • Enter the ancient trees of the Anykščiai Forest, thought to once shelter the legendary fortress of Lithuania’s first king • Relax at the glass-domed pool of our spa-centric forest hotel.
Night 1
At this relaxation-centric resort, enjoy views of the Anykščiai Forest from your airy room and sleep on a mattress made by the same manufacturer that supplies the Swedish royal family. (pool, spa)
Days 2-3
Cross into Latvia on two wheels—what was once a Soviet checkpoint is now a customs-free European state line • Enjoy your first Latvian lunch at a baroque manor • Cycle all the way to Jelgava, where you can stroll the town riverfront and tour the treasures of Jelgava Castle • Settle into our hotel in metropolitan Riga and celebrate your arrival at a rooftop dinner with views of the Old City’s spires • Bike past pine-covered dunes to Jūrmala, a seaside getaway for Rigans since the 19th century • Savor fresh fish within earshot of the waves • Do some urban exploration on a boat cruise down Riga’s City Canal and a walking tour of the capital’s art nouveau buildings with a local expert.
Nights 2-3
Luxurious old-world hospitality set in a 19th-century building right in the heart of Riga's city center. (pool, spa)
Days 4-5
Set out from red-brick Sigulda Castle and stop roadside at caves and breweries as you spin through Latvia’s northern hill country • Cross the border into Estonia, where our villa-hotel awaits in seaside Pärnu • Enjoy the day’s catch with a side of live music in a lively fishermen’s tavern • Visit a Russian farm for delicious hospitality and a fascinating look into the history and culture of the Baltic states’ ethnic Russian population • Consider renting kayaks or stand-up paddleboards on our afternoon in Pärnu.
Nights 4-5
This gingerbread-house manor welcomes us with colorful and cozy accommodations in the center of this seaside resort town.
Days 6-8
Bike from village to village in the lush Estonian forest • Rest your head at our gorgeous castle-turned-hotel • On quiet coastal roads, catch clifftop views of hidden coves and beaches flashing through the trees • Explore a museum and music center dedicated to Estonia’s most famous classical composer or pedal to a remarkable lake set in a flooded quarry • Shift gears on your last morning and hike to Keila-Joa waterfall and the nearby beach • End your trip in charming Tallinn, a welcoming capital city that beckons you to extend your trip.
