DAY 1
Welcome to the Brenta Dolomites, a hidden corner of the popular Italian mountain range and a UNESCO World Heritage site | Trek to a rifugio for a home-cooked lunch overlooking two spectacular alpine lakes | The jagged peaks frame the scene as you pass wildflower meadows and alpine pastures | Relax at the end of each day at our elegant mountain retreat, perhaps with a visit to the internationally acclaimed spa | Toast to the journey ahead over a wine tasting highlighting the region’s native grapes and traditions.
DAY 2
Be captivated by another scenic hike today in the high alpine landscape, hitting the trail from another one of the area’s famed rifugi | Hike the perimeter of the turquoise Cornisello Lake, and if you’re up for a challenge, ascend to Trentino’s biggest high-country lake, Vedretta | Enjoy a traditional hut lunch featuring local cuisine | Marvel at the spectacular view of the Brenta Group from the trail.
DAY 3
Ascend into the mountains via gondola for a breathtaking hike | The green forests above Val Rendena become interspersed with the geometric rocks of the alpine plateau | Climb to the Twelve Apostles Hut—named after the twelve peaks of the Dolomites—for panoramic vistas of the surrounding massifs and a classic Dolomite lunar landscape.
DAY 4
Venture to the famed ski resort village of Madonna di Campiglio—a playground for outdoor enthusiasts in the winter and summer months alike | Overlook the forested mountainside and epic peaks by gondola and trek from Rifugio 5 Laghi past a series of high alpine lakes | Raise a glass to a memorable mountain adventure with a final dinner.
DAY 5
Take one last walk along the Sarca River and to the nearby Nardis waterfalls before departing for Verona.

In some cases our shuttles will get us to and from the trailheads, but due to the nature of these trails, we usually won't see our vehicles along the route.
Ample trail support in the form of water, snacks and encouragement is provided by your Backroads leaders and local guides, and we'll make use of the extensive network of mountain huts for provisions, meals and shelter.
Also, please note that our daily route options may travel in different directions from each other, depending on the route level. Please keep this in mind when choosing your walking/hiking option each day, especially if connecting up with other guests midday is important to you.
