We want to make sure you're on the trip that's right for you. Every Backroads trip is unique and this one is no exception.
To bring you to our favorite parts of the Puget Sound and Olympic Peninsula, we make liberal use of ferry transfers and van shuttles on this trip. You’ll be on board a ferry for many of the days on this trip as we island-hop like the locals do.
Our daily itineraries and activities are based on ferry departures, which are subject to change. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility if we must adjust our activities according to the ferry schedule.
While the accommodations on this trip reflect the natural surroundings of the national parks and provide unparalleled access to the areas we visit, they are much simpler than a typical Backroads property. The two historic hotels and national park lodge are rustic and have a summer camp feel. Overall, the service standards can seem slow and casual when compared with the hospitality found on other Backroads trips. Please note that internet and cell phone service are extremely limited, and guest rooms are not equipped with air-conditioning.
At Lake Crescent Lodge, guest rooms are basic and not equipped with televisions. During our stay at Lakedale Resort we are accommodated in either cozy lodge rooms or spacious and comfortable yurts with en suite bathrooms, offering an elevated glamping experience.
