Itinerary
Days 1-3
High above the sea, bike through Préalpes d’Azur Nature Park accompanied by expansive views of the French Riviera and Alps • Take pleasure in the splendor of the landscape as you pass forests, plateaus, gorges and villages perchés (perched villages) clustered on the hillsides • An afternoon ride leads to the hamlet of Saint-Paul-de-Vence, a mecca for artists and once inhabited by painters such as Picasso and Matisse • Admire 360-degree views from the lovely village of Tourrettes-sur-Loup • Try your hand at a family game of pétanque before dinner • Enjoy a guided tour of Antibes and a beautiful coastal walk along the Sentier du Littoral • Paddle the jewel-toned waters around the Cap d’Antibes on a kayaking adventure • Engage all of your senses at a gourmet dining experience on a local farm.
Nights 1-3

Our hiking routes lead us through forests, rocky mountain trails, paved and unpaved roads near villages and seaside paths with some stone steps, which can become slick when damp. Some trails are very narrow in places, and include sections with sheer drop-offs. Hiking poles (which Backroads provides) can provide assistance. However, significant elevation gains and losses can make the routes feel more challenging than the mileage may suggest.
