Explore volcanic São Miguel, an island made up of vivid colors and bright green hills • Hike around viridian Furnas Lake to reach a collection of steaming fumaroles • See the geothermal soil chefs use to cook the famous cozido das furnas stew • Adventure on wooded trails past waterfalls and leafy vegetation • Discover the north shore’s dramatic cliffs and shoreline by foot • Historic water mills, breathtaking bluffs and panoramic views are on display • Eat fresh seafood in a charming coastal town • Bike through remote Azorean villages with traditional stucco homes and age-old cobblestone streets • Keep your camera handy as we gaze at sweeping vistas of the volcanic shoreline and ocean beyond.
