Itinerary

Day 1 Ride through a picturesque Bavarian landscape past a 13th-century farmstead, fields of wildflowers and sparkling lakes  Eat, drink and be merry at one of Bavaria's most beautiful biergartens on the grounds of an ancient monastic brewery  Discover one of nature's finest playgrounds at delightful Lake Tegernsee, encircled by snowcapped peaks.

Day 2 Let the foothills of the Alps be your guide as you bike past forests, wildlife and lovely Bavarian villages Explore the town of Neubeuern with its many intricate murals and festive market square  Learn about German culinary traditions from one of the country's most famous chefs in charming Aschau im Chiemgau  Savor the rich flavors of the region's cuisine at Residenz Heinz Winkler's two-Michelin-starred restaurant.

Days 3-4 Pedal around deep blue Chiemsee Lake, often referred to as the Bavarian Sea  Discover peat plots along the trail and hear their fascinating story at a museum en route  Drift across the lake with a short ferry ride to historic Herrenchiemsee Castle  Get ready to witness architectural grandeur as you tour the largest palace of Bavarian King Ludwig II  Rejuvenate in the pools and spa at spectacular Hotel Tennerhof.

Days 5-6 With soaring mountains at your back, reach the German-Austrian border  Take in the breathtaking panorama of the valley below on the descent into Tyrolia  Stand in awe of the natural beauty of the Kitzbühel area, one of Europe's top cycling destinations and home to the largest cycling event in the world  Pedal through tiny Tyrolean villages, undulating pastures and impressive mountain ranges on some of the same routes the pros use  Enjoy a final leisurely morning in the region's picturesque countryside.
