Photographer's Notes: After the second night at Salkantay Lodge and the day before the challenging trek up Mt Salkantay to over 15,000 feet, we stopped at this lake for a ceremony to give thanks to Mother Earth. Our trip leader and two guests were brave enough to go into the frigid lake water. It was a beautiful day with great light and I managed to get into the right place at the right moment to get the shot. This photo was taken with a Leica M9 with a 35mm lens shot in RAW and post processed using Aperture3 and Nik Viveza2.

Photographer's Notes: This picture was taken the morning after our first dinner at the Chateau de Marcay. Before taking off for biking that morning, I was walking around the property exploring, when I peaked through a French door and realized I found the restaurant where we had eaten an outstanding meal, accompanied by some awesome French wine, the evening before. As I looked through the window I saw that the table where we had shared this wonderful time together had been reset for the next lucky diners.
