Does Backroads offer custom trips?
We don't do custom trips because they cost you much more for something different, but not better. We choose to constantly improve all of our trips year over year over year to give you the best trips every time. If you want to bring your favorite people along, Private Trips are our specialty.

There’s nothing better than exploring the world with the people you love the most! Private Trips are our very same thoughtfully designed and expertly led itineraries, hosted exclusively for you and your friends and family. What trips are available for my private group?
Any Scheduled trip with no other bookings is available for you and your group, so we strongly recommend booking early for the best selection of dates and destinations.
If you can’t find a Scheduled trip date that works, we may be able to make a new date just for you—give us a call.
When should I book my Private Trip?
The sooner you book, the more options you’ll have in terms of trips, dates and the best pricing. For our scheduled trips, we start taking bookings about 12–18 months before the trip date, and it only takes one guest to book for that scheduled date to become unavailable for Private Trips. Desirable dates sell fast!
