Another fantastic Backroads trip.
We loved everything about this trip. All the hikes were wonderfully scenic and interesting. We especially loved the day we hiked in Monemvasia -- the trails there were unforgettably scenic and the village beautiful, historic and interesting. The two hotels were fantastic and beautifully situated, the food everywhere was excellent, and as is always the case our guides were wonderful people besides being outstanding guides. We won't forget Paolo, Yorgos and Kara. This was our sixth Backroads trip and it won't be our last. They have all been great and this was one of the best.
Where reality exceeds fantasy
The whole trip far exceeded my expectations which were a 10 going in!
Unexpected beauty
Loved the historic villages and beautiful hikes that offered variety of scenery. Accommodations were awesome! Fun and easy going leaders and always professional but also personal.

10's across the board
Just completed the post-trip survey, and I literally rated every aspect a 10/10. (Not clickbait!) Hiking: Personally, I loved it, and it was perfect for the activity level I'm looking for (some uphill, some downhill, some sweat and dirt, but nothing to make me regret my life choices). The landscapes and paths were really lovely (as they always are with Backroads), and there was really cool variety with what we saw and did. I think my favorite hike was around the island of Monemvasia, as it was unlike any other hike I've done before! Food and accommodations: Great, as always! In my humble opinion, food is one of the more important things while traveling, and neither Greece nor Backroads disappointed here. A wonderful variety of options for different dietary preferences, everything was so fresh, and you could feel the love it was made with. The two hotels were both luxe and comfortable, zero complaints and only a desire to stay there again. Guides: Our small group was shepherded by rockstars Ourania and Mikhaila, who were both so lovely to get to know over the 6 days. They kept everything running smoothly, were happy to make changes according to specific requests, and went absolutely above and beyond to ensure that all needs were met when another guest had a medical emergency. We truly have them to thank for making the experience as great as it was! In conclusion, I would absolutely recommend this trip, and honestly I would be so happy to repeat it in the future!
