The time and places to move your body and imagination. Yellowstone is one of a kind. The Tetons’ majesty is only matched by the serenity you feel in its presence. Activity Level: 1-2

Our Dolce Tempo activities allow you to leisurely explore local hidden gems and to get away from the crowds, experiencing the essence of your location on your own terms and at your own pace. Easier than our other trips, but still wonderfully active, itinerary options typically include 2-4 hours of walking, e-biking or other excursions per day. On e-bike routes, our custom electric-assist bikes allow you to pedal effortlessly. Your trip is fully supported with dedicated Trip Leaders, vans, meticulously selected routes and downloadable GPS files available for use on your own device.

Route notes

Our walking routes include dirt paths with sections of rocky steps and boardwalks. Our e-biking routes include fifty-percent bike paths; while on roads, our routes have little to no shoulder and we encounter some traffic. All activities take place at elevations of 4,000–8,000 feet, which can make the routes feel more challenging than the mileage may suggest. Authorized Permittee of the National Park Service.

Straight talk

We want to make sure you're on the right trip and that you have the best experience possible. Every Backroads trip is unique and this one is no exception.

Accommodations, Meals & Service Standards

While the accommodations on this trip reflect the natural surroundings of the national parks and provide unparalleled access to the best activities in the area, some are simpler than is typical of Backroads lodging. Canyon Lodge and Jackson Lake Lodge have basic guest rooms that are not equipped with televisions or air-conditioning; breakfasts and dinners throughout the week may lack variety and tend toward simple ingredients. Overall, the service standards can seem slow and casual when compared with the hospitality found on other Backroads trips. Please note that internet and cell phone service are extremely limited throughout the parks.

Interpretive Guides & Hiking without Your Leaders

The National Park Service limits the size of all groups and Grand Teton National Park doesn't permit guided hiking. Accordingly, in Yellowstone National Park you'll hike and bike in small groups with Backroads leaders. In Grand Teton National Park you'll bike in small groups with Backroads leaders, however you'll hike without Backroads leaders or local guides. Your leaders will provide pre-walk briefings, maps and directions. We appreciate your cooperation with the park's regulations.
