Wrap yourself in a blanket of stars. Question: what sound will you make as your head hits the pillow after an epic day in the Canadian Rockies? Answer: ahhhh.

Straight Talk
We want to make sure you're on the right trip and that you have the best experience possible. Every Backroads trip is unique and this one is no exception.

Tents & Sleeping Essentials

Our spacious dome tents easily accommodate two adults and their gear. Sleeping bag, sleep sheet and an extra-thick inflatable sleeping pad are all provided to make sleeping on the ground more comfortable. Backroads does not supply pillows, so please bring your own. No lighting is provided in your tent, so a small flashlight is essential.

Restroom Facilities

Restroom facilities are available at each campground. The restroom floors can be wet, so be sure to bring flip-flops! We also recommend bringing a hanging toiletry bag since space is limited and surfaces are wet. Be advised that outlets and mirrors are few. Backroads does not supply towels, so please be sure to pack your own.

Comfortable, casual attire and footwear is strongly recommended—leave those heels or imported Italian leather loafers at home! Also be sure to bring along a few warm layers for the cooler evenings.

Days 1-3 Soak up sensational views as you ride along the Bow Valley Parkway in the shadow of the Continental Divide The Bow River and towering peaks lead to our campground Along the way, keep your eye on the forest for elk, bighorn sheep, mule deer and black bears Embark on a classic Rockies trek to the historic Plain of Six Glaciers Teahouse If you can pull your eyes away from the stunning vista of glaciers and vertical peaks, you may spot mountain goats or marmots in the nearby boulder fields From Lake Louise, bike along the breathtaking Icefields Parkway to Waterfowl Lakes, where your cozy tent and gourmet camp cuisine await.

Guest Trip Reviews

This trip was seriously one of the most rewarding experiences of my life! Everything was absolutely amazing and I couldn't have asked for a better time (except that I wish I was still there!!)
Jacob Pollack- New York, NY

What an outstanding experience. I am a "fiercely independent," very experienced world traveler who would normally avoid a "group tour." This Backroads trip was such an unexpected pleasure. One of my best travel experiences ever. Beyond the extraordinary scenery of the Canadian Rockies, the great food and challenging physical activities, the Trip Leaders made the experience what it was for me. Thank you all for such a memorable week.
Tom Roth- San Francisco, CA

The multisport trip to the Canadian Rockies was outstanding. It was everything that I had hoped for and more. The views were spectacular, and I really enjoyed the itinerary. I thought the amount of activity was perfect. Our days were filled and extremely enjoyable. Once again, your leaders are exceptional.
Barbara Rains- Cedar Knolls, NJ

This being my first Backroads trip I find it hard to believe how well they do what they do. The trip leaders were the best hosts you could have. They were kind, caring and it was like being on vacation with mom and dad as a child. EVERYTHING was taken care of. All I needed to do was to relax and play. The culinary magic that they preformed over a campfire was unbelievable (how do I get the a cook book of recipes?). Finally, the people who were on the trip could not be nicer, by the end of the trip it was hard to say goodbye. I am already looking forward to next year ' s trip! Backroads thank you for the best vacation I have had in years.
Roland Galli- Novato, CA

I had a phenomenal time on this trip. I loved every minute of it. I had high expectations of the Backroads trip from talking to previous Backroads travelers and this trip met or exceeded those expectations. The trip leaders did an unbelievable job taking care of everything and such sweethearts and great people.
Scott Testa- West New York, NJ

This was tied for the top two best vacations ever. The only reason the other one was up there is I had 16 friends with me and it was like The Big Chill.
Lori Spero- Palatine, IL
