This trip is exotic and exciting—kind of like riding a camel. You'll savor tagines and be mesmerized by Berber music. Hike to a rustic village in the Atlas Mountains. Spin past olive groves to the sea. And yes, ride a camel on the dunes. Perhaps you've traveled with us before. But come to Morocco and your non-camel vacations just won't compare.

Itinerary

Day 1 Pedal through an exotic landscape more accustomed to goats and donkeys than cyclists | A local expert introduces us to the 16th-century hamlet of Tamesloht and its zaouia (holy site) | Stroll through the rose gardens or take a dip in the pool at our mountain hideaway.

Day 2 In the High Atlas Mountains, hike to a village accessible only by foot and experience traditional life  | Share mint tea, fresh bread and olive oil with a welcoming Berber family | Trek through the verdant Imlil Valley, surrounded by rugged peaks | Enjoy a lively performance of singing, drumming and dancing before dining on Moroccan specialties.

Day 3 Goats climbing trees? Look for them in the argan trees as you ride through an undulating terrain past sun-kissed olive groves toward the Atlantic | Explore the narrow winding streets of Essaouira, an artsy whitewashed port town and World Heritage site with delightful cafés, galleries and shops | Kick back at the luxurious Heure Bleue Palais, with spectacular ocean views.

Day 4 Camel ride through coastal dunes | Spin to the sleepy surfing village of Moulay Bouzerqtoune, where dramatic hills tumble to the coast | Wash away your cares in a traditional hammam | Cinnamon, turmeric and anise dance on your tongue during a lavish Moroccan dinner.

Days 5-6 Explore Marrakech's bustling medina | Visit an argan oil women's cooperative and discover the process behind this therapeutic oil | Relax in our desert oasis or, if you prefer more adventure, bike or hike in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains | Cycle through Marrakech's Palmeraie—a scene set with palm trees, camels and brilliant bougainvilleas.

The earlier you book, the more choice you'll have and the lower your price. And you can always change your mind — you won't be charged to transfer to a different trip before your final payment is due. View cancellation policy.

This trip filled every expectation - and more!

Comments about Morocco Multisport Adventure Tour:

From the moment I arrived to begin this trip, everything was extremely well organized and thoughtfully planned to take care of every need. Our leaders, Dom and Josh, were very experienced and knowledgeable. Equipment, meals, hotels and biking / hiking routes were excellent. On top of everything else, I made some really special new friends and, as a first-time Backroads guest and, in fact, a first-time group traveler, I was made to feel welcome by everyone. Who could ask for more?!?

Get the Straight Talk about This Trip

We want to make sure you're on the right trip and that you have the best experience possible. Every Backroads trip is unique and this one is no exception.

Accommodations

While our hotels are some of the finest in Morocco, they tend to be in fairly isolated areas, removed from the conveniences of a cosmopolitan city. Though part of their charm, it also means that when things break, it may take some time to get repaired. Service standards can be a bit different here and you may encounter the occasional person unfamiliar with the concept of "service with a smile."

Biking in an Emerging World

In Morocco, traffic can be faster and more congested than what you may be used to. You may also find the "rules of the road" to be different, with vehicles focusing only on what's ahead of them and entering traffic too quickly, or pedestrians rushing across the road. We've designed our routes throughout Morocco to avoid heavily trafficked areas whenever possible. However, it's important to be alert and cautious, especially in busier areas around villages and major intersections.

Rest assured, our Moroccan team is there to help and guide you along the way.

Why Travel with Backroads in Morocco

We Have Deep Roots in the Desert

For more than 15 years we've directly operated our own trips in Morocco, because that's how we do things everywhere in the world: you can't get a memorable, smooth-running, uniquely personal Backroads experience from a subcontractor. Pairing our own trip experts and leaders – who've lived in the country – with great local guides, we're able to take you deeper into the real Morocco while delivering exceptional service and support.

Only the Best Hotels

On this trip featuring Premiere Hotels, you can count on the best lodgings Morocco has to offer. In fact, the hotels we've chosen in this region have higher retail room rates than those offered by any other active travel company—even when their trips cost more.

We Invented the Multi-Adventure Trip

After more than 30 years of creating Backroads Multi-Adventures, our trip designers know how to blend the perfect balance of biking and hiking with other activities to showcase the best of a region. And then they arrange the seamless transitions that would be so hard to orchestrate on your own—adding dimensions to your trip that are exciting, inspiring and just plain fun.

We Stand Behind Our Trips

Most companies' trips in Morocco are run by local operators. At Backroads we manage our own trips; we would never subcontract your precious vacation to a third party. So as you enjoy the support of your seasoned Trip Leaders, along with our expert local guides and drivers, you have the confidence of knowing we're with you every step of the way.

Everyone at Their Own Pace

We design and support our Morocco trips to suit mixed abilities and varied interests—so you can set your own pace, then change things up as the day unfolds. And all guests are free to do the same, traveling together or apart, with no one cramping anyone else's style. Which sounds easy in theory, but it's hard to pull off. Here's more on how we do it.

The Best Leaders in Morocco

Backroads has the best-qualified people to lead your trip in Morocco, and our guests back that up, rating our Trip Leaders an average of 9.75 out of 10 for all-around quality of performance. Get the facts (and no fluff) on how we recruit and develop the very best people for your trip.

Experts with Secrets to Share

In choosing the ideal experts to enrich your travel experience, we look for people with a wealth of local knowledge, but also the ability to convey their insights in English. Too often travelers find themselves smiling politely, not quite understanding what they're being told. Our experts share intriguing facts, anecdotes and inside stories that stay with you forever.

Our Superb Bikes Included

A great bike is obviously critical for a great multi-adventure trip; you don't want to gamble on one that's been sourced locally to trim costs. This trip features our acclaimed Backroads Custom Titanium bikes, expertly tuned and fitted, and included in your trip price. Learn why our titanium bikes are ideal for most riders.

Your Hotels Are Locked In

It may seem obvious to say the great hotels we tell you about are the ones you'll actually stay in. But the fact is many companies haven't even booked the places they promise and are later forced to settle for inferior alternatives. We book our hotels and exact rooms long in advance—often over two years—so you stay where you expect to stay.

Quality You Can Measure

Since 1979, Backroads Founder and President Tom Hale has shown that staying #1 means constantly evaluating our performance using the best possible source of information: our guests. As we systematically analyze your feedback on our trip consultants, leaders, hotels, meals and on-trip activities, we never stop working to make a great company even better.
