Glacier & Waterton Lakes Multi-Adventure Camping Tour

National Park Adventures in Montana & Alberta

  • Journey on legendary Going-to-the-Sun Road—you won't soon forget the trip!
  • Enjoy views of the Continental Divide at the top of Logan Pass and look for mountain goats, bighorn sheep and bald eagles
  • Witness Waterton's rolling ranchland and extraordinary glacier-carved valleys
  • Savor the brilliance of the star-filled sky and wake to the aroma of a fireside breakfast

Can this mountain landscape, with its waterfalls, vast virgin forests, glacial valleys and towering ice-glazed peaks, truly exist? It's a fun thought to ponder as you walk through a forest full of red cedar and fir. Is that really a bighorn sheep perched on the bluff? Amazing to consider. Even better to experience.

Glacier & Waterton Lakes Map

Day 1 Welcome to Big Sky Country! | After meeting in Whitefish, head out on a warm-up ride into Glacier National Park | Pedal to an overlook where stunning views of Lake McDonald and the surrounding valley await | Stop in Apgar Village and check out regionally made crafts in the shops and galleries, or drop by the visitor center to learn about the park's flora and fauna.

Day 2 A shuttle whisks us to Logan Pass via the famed Going-to-the-Sun Road which, according to Outside magazine, "provides a year's worth of extraordinary scenery in one trip" | Embark on a hike through the surrounding area with plunging waterfalls, enormous virgin forests, towering peaks and glacier-carved valleys as our backdrop.

Days 3-4 Journey north to the Canadian border through ranchland and past stands of aspen | Pedal a hilly route to an overlook with spectacular vistas of Chief Mountain | Tackle a scenic climb that ends at Canada's Waterton Lakes National Park | Spend the day in Waterton Lakes National Park as you choose: hike, go horseback riding, fish or simply relax | Hop aboard a boat shuttle to Goat Haunt, the northern gateway to Glacier National Park | Hike to Rainbow Falls or Kootenai Lake, where you might spot a moose.

Day 5 Savor views of the surrounding mountains during a morning hike through open grassland and lush aromatic forest | Arrive at Crandell Lake in the Blakiston Valley, an ancient meeting place and camping area of the First Nations people for thousands of years.
