Bike, Hike & Kayak in Wyoming's Wilderness
The Tetons. Majestic sawtooth mountains. Snowcaps above, incredible wildflowers and glacial lakes below. Truly spectacular. Yellowstone is different. One-of-a-kind. Geysers that really erupt on the hour. Turquoise hot springs with the pungent smell of sulfur. Waterfalls, wolves and bears. Buffalo and elk as common as tourists. It's even got its own Grand Canyon - just as dramatic as the original. On this adventure, you'll hike, explore, bike, camp and kayak this incredible piece of Wyoming. But don't think for a second you'll be able to fathom how Mother Nature did it.
We want to make sure you're on the right trip and that you have the best experience possible. Every Backroads trip is unique and this one is no exception.
Interpretive Guides & Hiking Without Your LeadersThe National Park Service limits the size of all groups and Grand Teton National Park doesn't permit guided hiking. Accordingly, in Yellowstone National Park you'll hike and bike in small groups with Backroads leaders. In Grand Teton National Park you'll hike without Backroads leaders or local guides. Your leaders will provide pre-walk briefings, maps and directions. We appreciate your cooperation with the park's regulations.
On your bike ride through Grand Teton National Park, park-certified local guides will join your Backroads leaders to help navigate the route and provide van support.
Tents & Sleeping EssentialsOur spacious dome tents easily accommodate two adults and their gear. Sleeping bag, sleep sheet and an extra-thick inflatable sleeping pad are all provided to make sleeping on the ground more comfortable. Backroads does not supply pillows, so please bring your own. No lighting is provided in your tent, so a small flashlight is essential.
Restroom FacilitiesRestroom facilities are available at each campground. The restroom floors can be wet, so be sure to bring flip-flops! We also recommend bringing a hanging toiletry bag since space is limited and surfaces are wet. Be advised that outlets and mirrors are few. Backroads does not supply towels, so please be sure to pack your own.
ConnectivityKeeping your cell phone charged while on a camping trip is usually done during the day via a car charger in the Backroads van. Backroads will provide car chargers with USB ports, so please make sure to bring your USB connecter cord with you. You'll be responsible for plugging in and retrieving it at a later time.
AttireComfortable, casual attire and footwear is strongly recommended - leave those heels or imported Italian leather loafers at home! Also be sure to bring along a few warm layers for the cooler evenings.

Guests Reviews About This Trip
I recently had the pleasure of joining Backroads on a Yellowstone/Tetons camping trip and thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience - particularly the hospitality. I was completely blown away by the quality of your staff, their professionalism, and personable emphasis on pleasant and totally accommodating hospitality. They were also great fun to travel with. The food was terrific. I was EXTREMELY impressed.- Charleston, SC
Excellent trip! The scenery in that part of the country is stunning, and the hiking and biking took us to the best places to view it. On our one rainy day, the leaders provided alternate activities, so the day was a success despite the weather. The tents and sleeping bags were excellent too. My big worry before the trip was that I'd freeze to death at night, but I was cozy and warm all night long!
It was better than I had imagined it to be. The people on the trip were really nice and fun to be around. The nature was beautiful. The food was amazing. The leaders couldn't have been better. And I really enjoyed being pampered on a camping trip! Reisterstown, MD
