Straight Talk

We want to make sure you're on the trip that's right for you. Every Backroads trip is unique and this one is no exception.

Terrain & Trail Support

During our days of hiking through the Himalaya region's captivating rugged terrain, we climb rocky and sometimes uneven paths, most of which are quite remote. The nature of these trails and our trekking lodges, which are mostly only reachable by foot, is such that you must at least hike each day's short route option. Ample trail support in the form of water, snacks and encouragement is provided by your Backroads leader and local guides.

Hiking in an Emerging World

As wonderfully fulfilling as travel is in Nepal, it's not always easy. Our itineraries and Trip Leaders remove as many obstacles and inconveniences as possible, but know that Nepal is a developing country where different attitudes, as well as litter or scenes of poverty, can sometimes be jarring. Yet the beauty of the people, the culture and the landscape shines through.

Flights

On this trip we travel by plane to reach the exclusive hotels and activities this destination has to offer. We'll be flying commercially with Buddha Air aboard ATR twin-turboprop planes that seat 42 passengers and Beechcraft 1900D twin-turboprop planes that seat 19 passengers.
