Alaska Multisport

“To the lover of pure wilderness, Alaska is one of the most wonderful countries in the world,” wrote John Muir in 1879. Although the prospectors and traders of Muir’s generation have been replaced by adventurers sporting cameras and binoculars, Alaska’s vibrant frontier spirit and overwhelming natural grandeur still have the power to consume the senses. Marvel at the snow-clad immensity of Mount McKinley, pedal beneath glacier-carved peaks and hike to the glaciers themselves. By bike and on foot, on rafts and in flight, discover Alaska’s majesty from many perspectives with Backroads.

Trip praise

A month after completing my Alaska adventure I am still in awe of both Alaska and my Backroads multisport trip. I met some very wonderful people and did several things that I had never done before—every day of this trip was fantastic! And, the best part, equal only to Alaska itself, were our leaders who made the trip everything that it could be and then some! I'm fully recommending Backroads adventures to any interested parties. This was my first vacation in four years and Backroads made it a trip that was out of this world!!
