Days 1-2 Santo Stefano Belbo

Meet in Turin Shuttle to the high hilltops above Alba to the Moscato vineyards for a picnic lunch  Hike up  vine-laden slopes and along a spectacular ridgeline to the tiny red-brick town of Castiglione Tinella   Dine at Guido, one of the region's finest restaurants, in the ancient wine cellar of our hotel  Join our local guide on a hike that follows a scenic ridgeline to the town of Mango, where you can taste the locally produced Moscato d'Asti.

Day 3 Manera

In Barbaresco country, hike over nebbiolo vine-covered hills, the grapes destined to become the famed Barbaresco Visit the antique village of Neive, designated by the Italian government as “one of the most beautiful hamlets of Italy.” Did you know that uva passata, or "remains of the grapes," are pressed into blocks and used as kindling?  Every visit to the region must include a sampling of the Piedmontese fresh egg yolk-rich noodle known as tajarin Relax at our hotel overlooking chestnut orchards and vineyards.

Days 4-6 Monforte d'Alba

Trek through a series of hilltop hamlets to Barolo country, an ideal setting for a superb picnic Satisfy your sweet tooth with the region's famous torrone, a nougat confection made with Piedmont's prized hazelnut Relax at the pool or walk next door to the neighboring winery to try some Barolos before dinner at one of the small local Slow Food eateries If the season is right, visit the town of Monchiero with a trifulao (truffle hunter) and his award-winning dog in search of black or white truffles.
