Unveiling the Magic of Marrakech, the High Atlas & Essaouira
Everything about our Moroccan adventure is intriguing, exotic and exciting - kind of like riding a camel. You'll savor tagines and sugary mint tea, and be mesmerized by Berber music. Hike to a rustic village accessible only by foot in the Atlas Mountains. Spin past sun-splashed olive groves to the sea. And yes, ride a camel in seaside Essaouira. Chances are that on other vacations you've beached, skied, swum, hiked, maybe you've even biked with us before. But come to Morocco and your non-camel vacations just won't compare.
We want to make sure you're on the right trip and that you have the best experience possible. Every Backroads trip is unique and this one is no exception.
AccommodationsWhile our hotels are some of the finest in Morocco, they tend to be in fairly isolated areas, removed from the conveniences of a cosmopolitan city. Though part of their charm, it also means that when things break, it may take some time to get repaired. Service standards can be a bit different here and you may encounter the occasional person unfamiliar with the concept of "service with a smile."
Biking in an Emerging WorldIn Morocco, traffic can be faster and more congested than what you may be used to. You may also find the "rules of the road" to be different, with vehicles focusing only on what's ahead of them and entering traffic too quickly, or pedestrians rushing across the road. We've designed our routes throughout Morocco to avoid heavily trafficked areas whenever possible. However, it's important to be alert and cautious, especially in busier areas around villages and major intersections.
Rest assured, our Moroccan team is there to help and guide you along the way.

Guests Reviews About This Trip
Our Backroads Morocco trip was simply amazing, from start to finish. What a way to explore a new country with different customs and way of living! We were treated like royalty by our leaders, and all our needs were met or exceeded. I felt privileged to share a peek into the real culture of such a fascinating country.- Stillwater, MN
We experienced Morocco in a way that I am sure few people do. I am still amazed by the fact that we climbed a mountain and at the top had tea with a local family in their home. I could write for pages on the things that have left an impression on me - from seeing the local women carrying home loads of firewood or water on their backs to sipping mint tea and bargaining in carpet stores. This was not my first Backroads trip and it certainly won't be my last.- Falls Church, VA
This trip was in celebration of my 50th birthday. It was everything I hoped for and more - and I had very high expectations, so that is saying something! Backroads made travelling to an exotic country user-friendly and exciting. We felt that we were able to see and do things that we could never have organized on our own. It is clear that Backroads has done an exceptional job of cultivating local relationships so that they can offer unique and meaningful experiences to their guests.- New York, NY
