Umbria Biking

The Ancient Hill Towns of Medieval Italy

Just southeast of Tuscany lies Umbria, a stunningly beautiful region waiting to be discovered. Join Backroads to bike through Italy's "green heart," with truffle-laden forests and vineyard-covered valleys, rolling pastureland and fields of grain. Pedal to well-preserved medieval hill towns harboring splendid Renaissance art and relics from Umbria's Roman and Etruscan past. Visit Assisi, where the region's rich history can be found at every turn. Spend evenings graciously enveloped in Umbrian hospitality, and indulge in hearty cuisine and outstanding wines. Just remember to keep Umbria our little secret.
