Take this trip
This trip is above and beyond my favorite Backroads vacation. I've been on 14 trips so far and this is top of the list. After asking leaders of the other 13 Backroads trips which one they recommend, all said Spanish Pyrenees to Costa Brava is not to be missed. They were all 100% correct. I took my 20 year old son on this trip too and he thrived on the challenging routes and tackled every climb, but I was not far behind considering all others on the trip were 30 years+ his senior. Our leaders, Santi and Carlos, and support crew, Berta and Marta, made this trip an unforgettable experience for both of us. Amazing accommodations, delicious food. great company (we had a fantastic group), and spectacular scenery. Don't miss this trip!

Exceptional in every way!
This trip did not disappoint! The trip leaders of Isabel, Marta and Carlos took care of every detail and made everyone feel welcome and special. The trip is beautiful, the routes are excellent and the hotels, food and beverages are all topnotch. This was by far the best vacation my wife and I have ever taken. I would highly recommend a Backroads vacation. If you decide to the plunge, I would encourage you to ask for Isabel, Marta or Carlos as your trip guides you won't be disappointed.
Exceptional
I have been on 17 Backroads trips, plus several with other vendors and this trip is exceptional! I had high expectations and this exceeded them. The biking in the Pyrenees is spectacular in terrain and beauty on roads with very little traffic except cyclists. The pedal assist bike was great for this aging avid cyclist and allowed me to enjoy all the long options. It would be challenging without the e-bike for all but the very fit/strong. The towns and villages were lovely with time to enjoy. Lodging and food up to BR high standards. Our guides were incredible; knowledgeable, enthusiastic, attentive to our needs, safety conscious, and super fun. We loved having a guide who was from that region. One guest got ill on the first day of the trip and was very well attended to with no disruption for the rest of us. I highly recommend this trip and will travel with Backroads again.
Our trip was excellent - exceeded our expectations!
The biking was great (most on our trip had e-bikes, which I would strongly recommend), scenery and views spectacular and food was excellent. Our guides were SUPERB!
EPIC!
On our first night, Santi Argemi asked the group to each choose a word to describe their expectations. Words chosen included Adventure, Exercise, Experience, Disconnect, Friends, Joy, Journey, etc. Had I known at the beginning of the week how amazing this trip was going to be, I would have chosen "Epic". Although I don't believe something can truly be described as Epic until personally experienced. Thanks Santi, Carlo and Trenor and all the other guests that made this week the Epic week it was.

This trip absolutely exceeded our expectations!
First of all, I was terrified about taking this trip but, we committed with a group of friends, so I was locked in. Almost every day leading up to "go time" I was second guessing why I was going. However, once the trip started our Backroads leaders were so incredibly knowledgeable and encouraging, they helped us every step of the way! Secondly, each accommodation was thoughtfully chosen and the locations were gorgeous! The food from breakfast, snacks, lunches and dinners was a foodie's DREAM! And the wine! Wow! I felt like this was a curated food and wine adventure with activities in between to help burn the calories. Lastly, I just can't say enough about how awesome this trip was for me and my husband. We are definitely looking for the next backroads adventure!! In the words of some wise man (probably Yoda)... Don't think, DO!

Backroads never disappoints. I leave always wanting more!
The biking was challenging and invigorating. The scenery spectacular and breathtaking. The leaders were supportive and engaging. The overall experience was memorable!

It was an excellent trip
Santi, Lara and Carlos were excellent trip leaders. They took care of absolutely everything and they were always available to help in anyway. The food was great. I especially enjoyed the Tapas dinner. The hotels were also very well run and luxurious. The climbs were hard but I was expecting that, and they provided awesome views and long downhills. Also, the guided tours at night were fun and wonderful and a good opportunity to learn about the history and culture of Spain and Catalonia.
Fabulous trip through Catalonia
The leaders (Santi, Selu) were phenomenal! They kept the entire group informed of the routes, the stops, the meals, and dealt with every possible change and occurrence. Beautiful area in the north of Spain, and biking through France while still sleeping in Spain was great!
Our trip was absolutely wonderful.
The rides were incredible, our guides were knowledgeable, encouraging and entertaining, making the whole experience unforgettable.
