On this trip, we'll be using titanium mountain bikes that are just right for the non-technical dirt road riding as well as the paved riding. (approximately 50% dirt and 50% paved).
About half of our biking routes follow paved roads, and about half follow dirt and single-track trails. The perceived level of difficulty is greatly increased by the rugged terrain on the dirt roads and sandy sections, making the routes more challenging than the mileage suggests. The level of difficulty assigned to each day's routes takes these factors into account.
