"Once again, we must rave about the folks at Backroads. From start to finish, you guys are insanely good. I couldn't believe what amazing food our leaders were able to prepare using just a grill and a Dutch oven! The meatless lasagna was the best I have ever had! The steaks, the cakes...heaven. And they work sooo hard. How can they manage to still be so perky, to carry our kids on shoulders, then sleep for only three or four hours on the ground? They are a special breed. I keep telling my 12-year-old daughter that she must seek this kind of work someday. What a celebration of life!"

"It was really a fantastic trip for so many reasons. The people were fantastic. I loved how well organized the organization is in terms of trip planning and taking care of luggage and even day packs. It was a real treat to really only have to think about what to wear that day. I loved all of the activities and what a great mix of activity and relaxation! Keeping busy by day and being at the pool by 4 or 5 for Happy Hour and dinner...! It almost made it all go by too fast. "I can't believe a month has passed since my sister and I got back from our Backroads trip to Vietnam and Cambodia. I have been referring to the experience as "the trip of a lifetime" and it truly was! Having lived in both Sri Lanka and China I didn't really think it was possible to have an 'authentic' experience in a country in just 10 days on a group tour, but Backroads proved me wrong. "Everything from when we were picked up at the train station in the van at Tours, to our departure from our last chateau, after farewell lunch, was fantastic. Our leader is a real gem! She was professional, energetic, creative, not overbearing, very pleasant, extremely helpful with the local culture, helpful with deciding on options for itinerary for the day, encouraging, always available, and just fun to be with, etc. For example, she was able to do things such as get the Prince (owner of the Château de la Bourdaisiere) to come down and chat with us after dinner. The accommodations were wonderful and food to die for. She took care of all of our needs and then some. Of course it did not hurt that we had such wonderful weather. We are already thinking about our next trip, possibly Provence."
