Calling All Procrastinators!

Dear Traveler,

Rich Snodsmith photo It's been said that there's a vast distance between late and too late. Wise words indeed—especially if you've put off planning your summer vacation!

Though you may feel that your window of vacation opportunity is starting to close, I'm happy to tell you it's not too late. Not too late to view steaming fumaroles, hissing geysers and ancient lava flows in Yellowstone National Park, or witness the majesty of hanging glaciers and jewel-blue lakes in the Canadian Rockies. It's even not too late to find adventure amid the châteaux and vineyards of the Loire Valley or hike among the timeless villages of the Cinque Terre and Tuscany.

So if you're still mulling over your travel options in the coming months, don't panic. Just give us a call or shoot us an e-mail and let us do the mulling for you. While our summer trips are nearly full, our experienced Trip Consultants are happy to find your ideal adventure from among the wonderful departures that still have space available. And before you can exclaim "I can't believe it's already the middle of June!" we'll have you signed up and ready to embark on the best summer vacation ever.

We look forward to seeing you out there!

Wine Country Weekend Biking: Through Alexander & Dry Creek Valleys

Want a break but don't have time to commit to full week away? Consider joining our incredible three-day wine country getaway. You'll side-step the crowds and savor much of what makes this pocket of Northern California one of our favorite places: gorgeous vineyard vistas, quiet country roads, gourmet meals and elegant hotels. Connoisseurs and casual sippers alike will delight in uncovering some of the region's premier wineries. And if you love fine cuisine, you won't want to miss our dinner at the Madrona Manor, whose chef has been awarded a coveted Michelin star!

Yellowstone and Tetons photo
Yellowstone & Grand Tetons National Parks

Northwest Wyoming is calling. And there's no better response than to join us in Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. In the Tetons, marvel at glacial lakes, alpine meadows and dramatically vertical peaks. Raft on the Snake River with expert guides and enjoy the area's rich cowboy culture. In Yellowstone, witness some of the most extraordinary geothermal activity on earth. Kayak across Yellowstone Lake, pedal along its shores and hike to the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, where waterfalls cascade over pastel cliffs. Has it been 91 minutes? Watch as Old Faithful shoots into action, exploding more than 100 feet into the air.

Canadian Rockies photo
NEW! Canadian Rockies Multisport

While the dramatic vertical relief of the Canadian Rockies is astounding from afar, nothing can prepare you for the jaw-dropping impact once you're among the peaks, gazing over vast U-shaped valleys and down onto lakes too intensely turquoise to be real. Our multisport trip focuses on Banff and Yoho National Parks. You'll pedal among the mountains and hike above the tree line to share incredible views with mountain goats. And savor unforgettable moments, like hiking to the historic Plain of Six Glaciers Teahouse and rafting on the Kicking Horse River.

Cinque Terre and Tuscany photo
Cinque Terre & Tuscany

Tuscany and the Cinque Terre deserve their spot among the world's premier walking destinations—even without the superb cuisine and wine! But with some of the top dining and drinking opportunities in Italy, as well as rich culture and scenic beauty, these places are truly in a class of their own. From the craggy cliffs, crystalline sea and pastel fishing villages of Cinque Terre to the Renaissance hill towns and Chianti Classico vineyards of Tuscany, these two beloved regions of Italy are sure to enchant you.

Loire Valley photo
Loire Valley Biking

It's no mystery why our journey among the classic Loire Valley châteaux is a perennial favorite with Backroads travelers. First, the biking is superb for all abilities, with mellow terrain for easygoing riders and first-timers, plus longer options for anyone desiring more of a challenge. Combine this with peaceful roads, famed Vouvray wines, stays at distinctive château-hotels and a whole range of wonderful dining opportunities, and you've got a biking experience that really is one of those must-do trips!
