The Thank You and Happy Holidays Issue, December 2008
Dear Traveler,
As 2008 draws to a close and seasonal celebrations swing into gear, it's a perfect time to reflect on the joys and challenges of the past year and consider all that we have to be thankful for.
I have so many people to acknowledge for their tireless enthusiasm and passion for creating the very best travel experiences out there—from our incredible Trip Leaders and home-office staff to our hotelier and restaurant partners around the globe. But I'd especially like to thank you, our guests, for choosing to explore the world with Backroads. We wholeheartedly believe in the lasting and far-reaching rewards of active travel, and we're working harder than ever to help you make the most of every precious vacation moment you spend with us.
It's our 30th anniversary next year and we'd love to celebrate with you! Consider joining one of our new trips in Europe, such as Alsace & the Black Forest Biking. Or experience five of North America's most magnificent national parks on our new Glacier & Canadian Rockies Biking trip. Or if you're looking for a shorter vacation—perhaps a weekend getaway or a departure you could tack on to the end of another Backroads trip—check out these options: Bryce & Zion Multisport, San Juan Islands Biking, Canadian Rockies Biking, or Colorado Biking.
Best wishes for the holidays and for a happy and healthy 2009. We hope to see you on an unforgettable Backroads vacation next year.
Warmest regards,

Tom Hale
Founder and President
